A Costa Rica vacation offers everything from natural rain forests to long white sandy beaches. You can visit ancient volcanic sites and lush botanical gardens. Raging rivers provide whitewater adventures on rafts or kayaks. Hikers will appreciate the challenges of the rain forest floor, while sunbathers will adore long lazy days near the surf.

One of the most popular Costa Rica vacation tours is the Irazu Volcano, which includes the Orosi Valley and Lankester Gardens. On this single tour you’ll see the tallest volcano in the country, as well as a colonial city and beautiful botanical gardens.

You can take advantage of several day trips during your Costa Rica vacation. One of the more interesting tours will take you to visit a historic coffee plantation near the city of Sarchi. You’ll see how simple coffee beans become gourmet coffee, from the field to the cup. Local artists sell their handmade products from oxcarts in this ancient city.

Maybe your Costa Rica vacation will center around the incredible Monteverde Cloud Forest. You can schedule to stay for a few days among the lush tropical foliage, with hiking tours to the Monteverde Biological Reserve as well as visits to the Hummingbirds Gallery.

Sports enthusiasts will love the opportunities for water adventures on a Costa Rica vacation. Dive deep into the Pacific Ocean on a guided tour of these crystal waters. You could go deep sea fishing and catch one of the spectacular specimens that live off the coast.

Another popular Costa Rica vacation tour takes you right into the canopy of the rain forest. It includes a thrilling ride through the trees on zip lines that are arranged through the treetops. The tour guides will teach you everything you need to know to enjoy this exciting new perspective on the tropical rain forest.

Our Little Heaven

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

When my husband said that we were going on vacation I couldn’t wait to start packing. He said that we were going to the Costa Rica Luxury Hotel and staying for an entire week. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

On our flight there he started telling me that they had a spa, a gym and even a pool that I could relax and soak up the sun by. The more he told me about the Costa Rica Luxury Hotel the more I wished the plane would hurry up and land.

My husband also knows that I am a nature nut so when he said that they were an eco friendly hotel I was very pleased. The Costa Rica Luxury Hotel takes pride in the fact that they are environmentally safe and even have a nature reserve.

Once we arrived and taken to our room, I could not believe that such beauty could be contained in one place. It was all perfect right down to the 500 count thread sheets that were so soft I could have stayed in them all day.

Of course while we were there we had to go to the Manuel Antonio National Park and see the wildlife that lived there. We saw howler monkeys, sloths and even raccoons. They were so cute you just wanted to hold one.

The Costa Rica Luxury Hotel was a little piece of heaven for us and I cannot wait until we can go back again. I even took a second look at the website just to see what we may have missed while we were there so we could do it the next time that we went back for a vacation. Next time I am going to make sure I see the gallery and the other nature reserve.

Tortuguero – A Cute Village By The Beach In Costa Rica

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

I was traveling along Costa Rica with my family and we decided to visit the Tortuguero Village. After a yummy breakfast and quick dip in the pool in Mawamba Lodge we took a short boat trip. We had to walk through the dirt paths that were through the village since there were no cars. Luckily enough, these paths were actually the center of our fun.

We had to walk through the dirt paths that were through the village since there were no cars. Luckily enough, these paths were actually the center of our fun. The attractions of this beautiful village were the cute little restaurants, the colorful central parks located on the river and a small path cutting to the village. 200 meters to the other side we found the beach where we enjoyed fresh coconut with rum delight!

When we were coming back, we had the opportunity to have a peaceful stroll and see the Caribbean Conservation Corporation (CCC) which is the turtle education and research center of that area. This was possible because one of the many benefits of Mawamba is that it is only 15 minutes by foot along the sandy shore from the actual village.

Although, the place was heavily logged by the huge lumber corporations and had direct effect on the turtle. This happened before Dr. Archi Carr, a biologist from the University of Florida arrived here on 1950’s. He had direct influence regarding the change of the area. After a long hard work, the government of Costa Rica finally agreed to make Tortuguero a national park on 1978.

INSIDER INFORMATION: When you are floating through the canals, you have to get amazed by this tropical jungle. You must think that is a primary forest where it is not! It is actually only 40 years old and that’s the beauty of nature for you; mix up the right ingredients (rain, humidity, great soil and permission) and jungles can rebuild themselves to their original state.
