Smart Companies Give Gifts

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Knowledge of corporate gifts is much lesser than that of personal gifts, which are given to people close to you. Businesses show that they are grateful to their customers or staff by giving away corporate gifts.

Corporate gifts are usually expensive things and they do not carry any business symbol or brand name, as they are not meant for marketing or advertising. However, companies often do promotion through distribution of small items like key chains, mouse pads, dongles, and other gifts to the workforce and potential customers.

The gifts to be given by the company should be chosen according to the needs and desires of the person for whom it is intended. Companies usually like to present personalised and high worth gifts to their key customers, but internally they normally give out a moderately expensive, but useful gift.

The effect of the corporate gift on the professional relations with a client or a team member depends on how valuable the person perceives the gift to be. Conferring with internal lawyers of your company before giving corporate gifts is advisable, because in some place the law might not allow it.

Before buying corporate gifts you should plan your expense, decide upon the number of gifts to be given, and look for good offers for a bulk purchase from the dealers. The planning part is more significant with respect to employee gifts, even more so if your organization is a mid-sized or large corporation. You should buy the right number of gifts so that no employee whom you plan to appreciate is missed out.

To conclude, giving corporate gifts is an intelligent business practice, that will help you develop a stronger and healthier relationship with both your staff and your clients. However, always make sure that it is allowed by law, and of course, by your financial position.

The Amazing Art Of Screen Printing

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Printing is a process of producing images and text, normally utilizing ink, paper and a printing press. Printing has changed considerably and improved over time. Screen printing is among the most common printing techniques.

Screen printing, also called silk screening, is ideal for printing on flat and even materials. A thin screen is stretched taut around a wooden or metal frame, and ink is pressed through the uncovered areas of the screen to create an image. To create a print, the silk screen is placed on top of your material and the image is covered with a thick ink. The ink is then pressed with a heavy piece of rubber through the image and the screen. The print is created where the ink is pressed through the unmasked areas. A heated tunnel is then used to dry the wet print; the prints can then be stacked and packaged.

When more than one color is involved, the process is repeated, utilizing different screens. So, four screens would be necessary for a four-color print; they can be placed on a rotary press or done by hand, allowing each color to print in its proper place.

There are many different methods for masking a screen. For simple projects, a masking fluid may be applied directly on the screen. Two-color graphics work best with this method; more complex multi-colored jobs will look better with a photosensitive emulsion process.

Screen-printed T-shirts using plastic inks are often stiflingly hot if you aren’t sure of what you’re getting as you order. For more subdued and vintage-looking screen-printed apparel, inks with a water base might be preferable. For a bold and heavy printing, application of plastic-based inks using heat might be a wise choice.

Many printers prefer the plastic-containing inks for several reasons: they are easier on the printing equipment, their colors are brighter, they are heavier and more visible, and they are more durable than thinner inks. Plastic inks may begin to show cracking after only a brief period of time. Natural inks look better and last longer than synthetic ones.

Corporate Gift Suggestion: Pens

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

Pens are small, fairly inexpensive but in respect to using them for gifts they do not get thrown away till they have been fully used, giving them a life of 1 – 2 months depending on usage. They are an ideal present, because they are versatile.

Nowadays, black ballpoint pens are the most popular ink color; many pen makers would agree. For advertising exposure purposes, the black ballpoint pen cannot easily be beaten for dollar for dollar advertising & market exposure value. They keep you front of mind with your clients every day when you add your branding or unique company features the pen.

Black ballpens are the most preferred amongst sales people & office workers but blue is next in line in popularity. Odd & interesting colours such as pink or orange can also be used, but are of little usableness. They’re best for children’s wear businesses or party-hire companies. After all you are giving a very practical gift so it may be better to stick with blue of black ink.

Imagination is the only limit when it comes to the exterior appearance of a pen. And as long as the pen is still usable practically as a pen, then you would still achieve your exposure goals.

For the body of the pen you should first focus on the company information you want to add and then consider the design of the body next. If you do not do this, you may end up with a great physical design that has zero space for the information you want to add. This would completely defeat your advertising purpose.

When it comes to the body of the pen do not go too cheap because a quality feeling pen will be used more by people. Also do not use the cheapest pen interior. A lot of us has thrown away a pen in frustration because a pen does not work when we tried using it. If a person gets this experience from your pens, they can associate the bad experience easily with your company. They will end with a bad impression of your company.

Good corporate gift suppliers should be able to not only purchase the pens you want in the bulks you need, but also be able to consult you on some of the pen body design and quality aspects that we have covered.

Build Your Staff Loyalty – Give The An Unexpected Gift

Friday, December 18th, 2009

The increasingly adopted custom of offering corporate gifts is not as familiar to people as gifts given by individuals to friends and family. Corporate gifts, unlike personal gifts, are given to customers or employees to show gratitude for their association or service.

These gifts are costly objects and they normally do not have any role to play in promoting the products or services of the organization, which means that they do not bear any reference to the company. On the other hand, various gift items are often given away for promotional purposes, such as stationery objects, storage devices, or key chains. In such cases, the gifts are often marked with the company’s logo before they are distributed to workers or potential customers.

While giving a corporate gift, it is critical to keep in consideration the interests of the individual to whom the gift is being presented, and to tailor it accordingly. Firms typically like to give personalised and lavish gifts to their clients, but internally they normally give out a moderately expensive, but highly functional gift.

In order to reinforce and promote a good relationship with a customer or a member of the staff, it is essential to remember that the apparent worth of the corporate gift is critical. However, gift-giving is at times regulated by the law, so a confirmation with your legal department is recommended.

Planning for corporate gifts involves figuring out the expenditure, arriving at the number of items, and looking for offers available in the market for a mass purchase. The preparation is more important with respect to employee gifts, even more so if your company is a mid-sized or large corporation. It is important to ensure that there are enough gifts to express your gratitude to every deserving employee.

In conclusion, the practice of giving a corporate gift to your customers and employees is a good way to build strong working relationships. However, two things must be kept in consideration – the law and your budget.

The attached stencil outlines the open areas of the mesh that transfer ink in the form of a sharp-edged image on the surface that is to be printed and this surface is called substrate.
