Something we discuss a lot is the honeymoon because it’s basically the man’s responsibility to plan it. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t include your bride, unless you think she’s relaxed enough to go along with whatever you plan. But here’s the difficulty: finding the right hot spot for you.
What sounds like a relaxing atmosphere to one may not be true for another so you need to do your homework and online is the best place to start. Read a few blogs at TravelBlog.org, check in with Wikipedia to learn more about certain destinations such as Tahiti, Southern California, and Jamaica. This free resource will give you a great understanding of the culture and surroundings from which you can make a decision.
Then think about how you would like to see these locations… by car, boat, cruise, plane, etc. How you travel is as much as part of the honeymoon as the location you choose because everybody travels differently. Some prefer to drive and other prefer to fly. I remember my first cruise, in which I thought I would be fine. Come to find out it wasn’t my favorite trip. A large ship in the middle of the ocean and I felt like I was held hostage for 7 days. But maybe that’s just me — I’m a travel by car kinda person.
Lastly, once you’ve done some research online, find a specialist who can help you finalize the details. This is especially important if you’re traveling out of the country. Nothing is worse than traveling a great distance to be disappointed once your arrive; especially on your honeymoon.
